  • Kuvaus: Periklis Lianos is an optimistic simpleton who takes the train from Xerochori to Athens with a suitcase containing six hundred thousand drachmas. With this money he intends to buy a house with a garden in order to grow vegetables, open a greengrocer’s, and settle permanently in Athens. He is so flippant that he tells everyone about his plans, and it is not long before he realizes that there are plenty of people who want to to paw his money. First, there are the people he travels with on the train, Xenofon Napas and Rena; the real estate agent Makis; his cousin Michalis, to whom he turns for advice; and finally Stelakis and his wife Margarita, the tenants of the house where he hides in order to get away from the others. Lianos, who is not so naïve as to put his fortune at risk, realizes what is going on and returns pursued by the others to his village.
